Directions to Trailhead: Take US75 to McKinney. Take
exit 41 (Highway 380). Go West 2.5 miles (toward Denton). Take a right (north)
on State Rd 1461 and go 2.1 miles toward Rhea Mills. Take a right at the sign
for Erwin Park on CR 162, a short road Turn right onto CR 164, a paved road.
Proceed .9 miles (passing CR943 on the right) and turn left at the sign onto
CR 1006. CR 164 turns into a gravel road just past this turn. The entrance to
Erwin Park is on the right .4 miles. Enter, take a left at the road split and
pass the first parking area and monument. Park on the pavement (only) near the
pecan grove/pavillion. The trail head is marked with an arrow and tire on a
pole.
